Micro crystalline waxes are a type of wax produced by de-oiling petrolatum, as part of the petroleum refining process. It contains a high percentage of iso-paraffinic (branched) hydrocarbons and naphthenic hydrocarbons. It is characterized by the fineness of its crystals and of high molecular weight saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons. The elastic and adhesive characteristics of microcrystalline waxes are because of its branched chain components. They are manufactured to have a high sealing strength when used as a bonding agent in laminated sheet materials and for many such applications. These waxes also forma smooth paste with oils or solvents and are thus suited for incorporation in polish formulations.

APPLICATION:

Microcrystalline Waxes are ideally suitable for manufacture of cosmetic creams, lotions & pharmaceutical ointments and petroleum jelly. They also find wide application in the match industry, stationery industry - as in crayons, pencils etc, printing inks & as a general purpose lubricant in industry. Other applications include Lamination of Paper, Cloth, Water Proofing, Floor Polishes, Electric Insulators, Compounding of Rubber, Lubricant formulations, Explosives, Pattern Making, Candle industry, Furniture, Auto and Leather Polishes.
